Lessons are designed to the needs of each individual. Each person is different and has a unique way of learning the material. It is my job to find out how an individual learns so that they will be able to comprehend the lessons at a hand. I have home schooled two child over the past 16 years. Both children have excelled in school and are my pride and joy. I am presently a substitute teacher, and a creative arts teacher. Upon graduation from college, I taught 7th grade English for two years, then Gifted & Talented grades 4-6. I left the field of teaching for marriage and babies. My husband was in the military, so we moved quite often. I homeschooled our two children for most of their elementary years. After that I taught 7th grade Algebra at a private school. I have tutored adults and children off and on over the years in various subjects, from reading to anatomy and math. I believe the most important skill we can impart to children is a love for learning, and a curiosity about life. That, with a firm foundation in reading and math, will take them anywhere they want to go. I do utilize more of a socratic rather than a didactic approach, and endeavor to involve the learner in discovery as much as possible.
