I have tutored students for the last two years, including 15 middle school english and math students this last year in Hernando County. All children can learn if properly motivated. I use a modified socratic method of teaching, engaging the child in a dialogue about the subject matter. I believe that all kids learn differently. Some may like things to be explained visually while other may perfer them verbally. So my approach is to use a variety of techniques in order to reach the different students. I believe that games are a good way to teach kids and to incorperate competition so that kids will learn to strive for the best and to be the best. I know that I can make learning educational and fun so that kids will learn.
As a student at the University of South Florida I had a minor in Leadership studies. With this minor I was able to take course that allowed me to work in the community with less fortunate kids.
