Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I can tutor in American Sign Language for a deaf/hh student in school or I can provide sign language instruction.

Six years spent interpreting at the high school level, three years at the middle school level and presently serving my second year interpreting for students in elementary school. I am also experienced in interpreting for after school clubs, sports and other extra-curricular activities and a variety of visiting speakers and events. I also presently work as a freelance interpreter for several agencies specializing in behavioral health and in the medical field.

I gauge how I tutor a child by their personal needs. I take the time needed to understand the child’s personality and listen to which is their preferred style of learning. My teaching style is focused on student achievement. Many parents complain that their child does poorly on tests. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students. My goal in teaching is to individualize the learning process for each student, so that the student understands and retains knowledge and is able to explain what they learned.
