Teaching organic chemistry has been a passion of mine for many years. I’m a full time independent chemistry tutor, both worldwide via Skype and locally in Western Massachusetts. I have an M.S. in computational organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is unique in the way that first principles build on each other throughout the course. A Little Bit About Me...

I would best describe my method of teaching as a give and take experience. Through diologue, I am able to lead the student through the thought process that will derive the correct answer. Giving bits of information can provoke a new approach to the task at hand. I also feel it is important to individualize each person being tutored, as everyone learns differently. Some learn best through the use of things such as pnuemonic devices, while others may need repitition to effectivily remember the material. Gaining knowledge is a passion of mine and sharing this information is something I truly enjoy.
My journey through the undergraduate sciences has given me the skills needed to be an effective tutor. The most important aspect of my teaching style is my ability to relax my students. I believe if you are in a relaxed environment, learning becomes easy. Chemistry is a difficult subject for many students and I am successful in giving my students the confidence that they can indeed understand the subject matter.
Inorganic Chemistry was my favorite class of my academic career. I had fantastic teachers and decided when I had the opportunity to give back to academia, I would teach inorganic chemistry.
