I graduated from Hope College in 2008 with my Bachelors in Social Work. My senior year internship was working within the Grand Rapids Public Schools teaching life skills and abstinence to both high school and middle school students. I then became a Youth Treatment Specialist at Wedgwood Christian Services. In my first year at Wedgwood, I had the opportunity to work as an education specialist within the on-campus school where I was with students through all of their classes for one day a week. I love teaching children and working with children's choirs. I had some very fine education classes at Aquinas. I'm very intuitive with children. While you must objectively assess the childs level, you must also be intuitive. The teacher has to tap into the innate knowledge and then approach the method of teaching in the way that child can hear you. I am 47 and a mother of an 11 yr. old.
