As a graduate of Bowling Green State University's Master of Education program, I have always had a passion for working with students in both a school and counseling setting. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, which enabled me gain employment as a Crisis Hotline Phone Attendant and a Behavioral Specialist in a Children's Home for troubled and at risk youth. In addition to completing the Masters program, I also earned my school counseling license. My school counseling internship gave me the opportunity to teach students with a variety of diffent learning styles. It is important to stay creative in the classroom. During my many years of teaching, tutoring, substitute teaching, and youth ministry work, I have worked with a wide variety of students from urban and suburban environments. I've always enjoyed learning, earning a BA in Secondary Education (summa cum laude) and an MA in English from John Carroll University. I have taught all areas of English and have tutored in everything from history to algebra. My greatest strengths lie in helping students learn to write coherently, read fluently, and prepare adequately for the ACT.
I have worked with high school students reading at a third grade level as well as those who could succeed at an Ivy League school--and have appreciated all of them.
