Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have had 5 years experience using Sign language in various settings including jobs and volunteer services such as: -Job Coach. -Interpreter. -Language Facilitator. -Teacher. -Tutor.

Since 2010 I have been involved with various jobs teaching, interpreting and using American Sign Language. I began an Interpreter Training Program at Nashville State Community College. After the first year of the program, I decided to move to a location where many Deaf people were and immersed myself in the language. I got a job as a job coach specifically working with Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. I also began volunteering as an interpreter at a local church. I later had oppertunities teaching sign language and also tutering some college students taking ASL courses. I love kids, and I love helping them learn and succeed. I have always believed that children learn best when learning is fun and interesting. I try to incorporate new and interesting methods of teaching into my lessons, including manipulatives and "hands-on" learning, and using "real world" examples that kids can relate to. I have learned from my experience that once you form a relationship with a student and learn their personality and interests, you can learn the best methods helping that student reach his/her full potential. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform. Working with children with special needs has allowed me to be able to get to know the student and adjust the curriculum so that the child will be able to benefit the most from!
As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. It was through this internship that I learned what a reward it can be to help others, and to see them flourish intellectually.
