Following my graduation from the University of Connecticut I pursued a career in the insurance industry but have also spent time working as a youth group leader and worked as a part-time tutor for several years. While living in Connecticut I tutored homebound high school age children who were either out on medical leave or expelled for disciplinary purposes. I am proud to report that in addition to several other students, I provided tutoring for a full course load covering an entire year for one expelled student who improved grades in every course and went on to graduate. I have also created training programs and hired and trained numerous employees in the insurance industry and serve as co-chair for an annual insurance educational conference held in New York City. I knew that I wanted to share what I was passionate about with others before I completed my undergraduate program in biology with certification cum laude.  Once I earned my bachelors of science degree, I pursued my masters program slowly having the opportunity to incorporate my love for the ocean and earning an Eisenhower Fellow at the same time.  My masters of science degree is in the natural sciences.  Although I have taught science and math to both public and private classes, grades 7-12, today, I am the vocational/educational specialist for a group home for young mothers as well as a town tutor.
