I began learning German and French when I was 16 and in High School, then immediately continued my studies in College at University of Northern Colorado, where I am currently a double major in the two languages. I will be a Senior this year. Within my experience, I have traveled to Germany thrice, two of those times to study through the college. I have also studied abroad for French in Québec. My knowledge of the literature of these languages has been greatly extended within my studies at the University. I am the German Tutor for the University during the school year. I have been playing guitar for seven years, and have taught lessons at times throughout. I have basic music theory training. I have also worked as a paraprofessional for students with disabilities for six summer school sessions, aiding them with academics and behavioral skills.

Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies I have maintained an A average. I have been considered to be very intelligent, professional, and a great leader to my peers during my schooling as well. Although I have only tutored a couple of students during my education, they both did considerably better on their exams after my tutoring. My teaching style is catered to the student. However he/she learns best is the way I will strive to teach them. With no preference, however, I am a very visual educator, as that is how I best learn. I enjoy working with students and have a high level of patience with each grade level. I am usually pretty laid-back and allow students leeway to have a bit of fun while they learn. I believe that without a little fun in their daily routines, students grow stagnant and bored easily. I enjoy feeling that I make a difference in student's lives. I am interested in being a guitar tutor. I have been playing guitar for about 20 years. I play with some old high school friends in a garage band that plays mainly classic rock. In my current position within Lipper, I have been a trainer- traveling to many different mutual funds offices and training them on our products. My main passion is music education. I love playing guitar and am excited to help anyone interested in learning about the instrument. My teaching style is to teach a broad idea and then teach the details within it. This way, students are able to understand easier what is being taught. I am a visual teacher- it is effective in my opinion as most of us are visual learners.
