Logical tutor with a wealth of military experience

I have taught military tactics to Soldiers as an NCO since 1998. I was certified as an Advanced Individual Training instructor in 2009. As an NCO, I am responsible for the welfare of those in my charge and several of my former subordinates have called me for advice even though they have other leaders. I am a Native Arabic and French Speaker. I have spent the last five years teaching Arabic to Non-Arabic speakers at the American University of Sharjah. My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Algebra made up a good portion of all of my coursework. It permeates all facets of science, so you have to master algebra and calculus simultaneously as you progress through scientific studies. I always have been particularly skilled in the math department. There is something about numbers and equations that just makes sense to me.

I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me.
I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. While working on my Bachelor's Degree at A&M I tutored students in various fields such as Immunology, Medical Microbiology, Bacterial Physiology and Genetics, Ancient Greek, and Clarinet. I also have teaching experience from my time as an assistant instructor at a martial arts school where I aided and held classes in Youth and Adult Brazilian JiuJitsu, Karate and Krav Maga.

While in college (1988-1994), I worked as a grader in the math department, with a goal of providing useful feedback to the students. I also began working as a tutor at Austin Community College (ACC) in their free learning labs at this time. I have worked at ACC for about 10 years, tutoring math classes from basic math through calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, discrete math and probability.
