I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.
I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.

I enjoy teaching students how to learn. Learning strategies teach students how to learn proficiently and quickly. Consider the following illustration. A student can take a football and run toward the goal line. He who runs efficiently and smartly (avoiding players whose goal is to tackle him) will cross the goal line. I received my Bachelor's degree in Education, Math Grades 8-12 at Baylor University. Through Baylor’s program I tutored Fall ‘03, Spring ‘04, and Summer ‘04. During the ‘04-‘05 school year, I was a Teaching Associate in a local school. I observed, tutored, co-taught, and taught one period of Geometry that year. For the ‘05-‘06 school year, I worked as an Intern in a local school. I taught, tutored, and co-taught all levels of geometry, Algebra 2 Honors, and Pre-Calculus. I went on to get my MS in Statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December ‘09. Upon graduating, I took an Adjunct Math Instructor position at ITT-Technical Institute in Omaha in June ‘10.

I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, and I will have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood come May 2011. During my first degree, I tutored many kids at the Elementary level that was set up through the University. I absolutely enjoyed working with the younger kids.
