Math is one of my top subjects!

Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.
While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.

My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. In a one-on-one setting, I tend to teach mostly to the style of the individual student. However, I vary the methods of that style to prevent monotony. I still utilize the non-dominant learning styles so students can begin to develop a holistic approach to learning, but if something flat out does not work, I will try a different approach.

A Little Bit About Me...

After twelve semesters of college and a wide variety of courses, my college experience has left me with quite the education and still more to come. I am a Senior attending the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a bachelor in Applied Computer Science. I have taken such a wide variety of courses in the previous six years that I have completed the major requirements for a bachelor degree in General Studies as well. This degree also stipulates I earn a minor, which I have completed in the area of Mathematics. My particular skills are in the areas of Math, Computers, and Life Science. Also, I worked in the Lecture Demonstrations office, which provided working demonstration props for use in lower division physics courses taught to students of both science and non-science backgrounds.
