Through the past ten years in law enforcement I have lead, instructed, and supervised many people. Each individual is different. Therefore, you have to know the person first in order to apply a teaching style. Age, gender, and subject matter are some elements that influence how a person learns. Some people learn visually, some people learn by practicing, some people don't want to learn. My style varies according to the individual and what he or she likes or dislikes. As a tutor my role can be from formal authority, demonstrator, facilitator and delegator. Key elements in the classroom: 1) facilitate interaction and 2) delivery of the content to student. I have tutored through the organization Literacy Volunteers in Flagstaff and Lake Havasu. Additionally, I tutored English in a refugee camp in Zambia, when I was with the Peace Corps. While living in Bangladesh, I tutored adults and children in English, as well as other subjects. I taught for three years in Bangladesh at International Turkish Hope School. My teaching style is to make sure that those I am helping understand what is being talked about. If they do not, we will keep working at it until clear. Since all teaching ways do not work for all students, I try to figure out what would work best for those I am currently tutoring, so that they will succeed.

I truly and honestly enjoy working with children of all ages to help them achieve their highest potential. I am highly efficient at helping students with homework, understanding lessons, and prepping for examinations. When working with young children (grades k-6), I try and make learning as fun and relaxing as possible. Young children also need a lot of attention to ensure they remain focused on the task at hand.
