Experience Summary
My tutoring began in when I was employed with Nazareth Colleges' Partners for Learning program. This program worked with several schools in the Rochester, NY area to provide in school and after school tutoring and teaching assistance to children grades 6-12. I specialized at one school, Hope Hall in Gates, NY, where I worked with students who had a variety of learning challenges. I assisted students with subjects such as: English, Spanish, French, math, language arts, science and social studies. I worked with Partners for Learning for two years from 2005-2006 while I was finishing my undergraduate degree. I have also been employed as a substitute teacher in my hometown of Rochester, NY.
Teaching Style
I truly and honestly enjoy working with children of all ages to help them achieve their highest potential. I am highly efficient at helping students with homework, understanding lessons, and prepping for examinations. When working with young children (grades k-6), I try and make learning as fun and relaxing as possible. Young children also need a lot of attention to ensure they remain focused on the task at hand. When working with young adults (grades 7-12), I try to do my very best to explain subjects as thorough as possible. I also like to take subjects one step further by using analogies to bring concepts into a form that is easier to understand and more relevant to their lifestyle.
