My teaching style is simple. I apply real-world applications to each subject helping each student find that connection for better understanding. Making the learning experience fun helping my students retain the information that is learned.
I have been providing tutoring and music lessons for 20 years. I studied French Horn on full scholarship at the University of Arizona. I have been playing music professionally (getting paid ;-) since I was 18. I play just about every wind instrument know to man. I have been working professionally in the health care field since 1996. I earned my bachelor's in Health Promotion in 2004 with a 4.0 GPA. I have been volunteering at my children's school for 7 years, coaching chess and soccer. My comments on tutoring Geometry : I will assist students with basic Geometry. Understand that I am a patient person.

I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.

My comments on tutoring Geometry : A freshman year of high school

I prefer to work one on one if possible, however up to a group of 5 is perfectly fine, because competitions can be made to help improve academically. Also kids/people learn best after making mistake or watching others make mistakes. I am an incredibly persistent guy and will spend whatever time it takes, with no extra charge, to ensure someone passes a class with an A. I have very reliable text books that I use to teach, however I know kids, despise using them so I turn the text into a more practical learning tool.
This is not very professional sounding, however I have helped all of my friends pass classes with As or Bs from 7th grade all the way to the end of high school. I never charged them. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel as an educator it is always important to learn from the students before you can teach them. The most necessary factor to success is being able to recognize just how the student learns and be able to take your teaching methods and adjust accordingly. Having had many good professors, teachers and tutors personally, I feel that this approach makes a world of a difference. I am very concise and methodical, but am also sensitive enough to pace myself according to the student's needs. I've found that I really enjoy teaching students, especially those who are struggling, because of the satisfaction that comes with seeing the light come on. I've had many students explain to me that my class is the first one that they've done well and actually understand the concepts. I've taught Project Management for the University of Phoenix in the past, but I especially enjoy teaching math at Pima College... Statistics and the various levels of Algebra.
On the survey sheets that I've seen, I'm often praised for being very patient with students and very respectful of the students, no matter what their level of understanding. I typically spend very little time in verbal explanation, but a lot of time if running through examples with students so they can see the patterns for themselves... practice makes perfect.
