I have relatively open teaching style because I know that not all people learn in the same way. I try to adapt to the individuals needs based on their abilities, however on the whole I teach by showing the students what to do and then having them perform the action while answering any questions they may have.
I have spent a lot of time using Microsoft Word and Excel for a number of application over the past ten years and feel I have become very proficient in using it. My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I use this software daily.

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. I like to start by encouraging the student to demonstrate what they know, and then give them a little nudge of guidance when they come to something that confuses them. If they're really stumped, then I try to teach them first from a conventional standpoint, then switch to a more example-based explanation. There is almost always an example or an analogy that can explain something that is confusing a student. Sometimes it takes a few examples before you find the one that makes sense to that person, but with a little patience it becomes easily understandable for the student.
