i had a lot of tutoring experience. I worked as a 2nd grade teaching assistant in an elementary school in Worcester, MA. Previous experience working in an English Day Camp as a teacher (ESL) in Hong Kong. I worked as a teaching assistant for International Trade at Purdue University. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies upon subject and student.
I graduated from Jefferson High School in the spring of 2012. I now attend Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne. I have two younger siblings and 4 younger step-siblings that I have helped with their homework, or helped them better understand material assigned to them. Their ages range from 8-17. I know how to explain certain subjects in multiple ways to ensure that eventually the student will understand the material. I am very patient, and I understand that some people learn at slower rates than others. I am majoring in nursing, though I considered teaching English before making this decision. I love teaching, and am looking to make some extra money for things I need while in college.

A Little Bit About Me...

Students learn to write by writing (and by reading). I have used a number of different text books but I find that students learn best when writing about something that matters to them. My approach to tutoring, then, would be to find out what a student truly cares about and start from there. In addition, I would begin by taking a diagnostic writing sample in order to see what mechanical issues seemed most important to address. I would never attempt to tutor a student with some kind of formulaic, standardized regimen of study but would work my hardest to tailor tutoring sessions to the individual needs of each student.

To the extent that I can, I tailor my teaching to the individual needs of the student. Typically, after assessing the student’s writing and discussing what he or she perceives to be their strength and weakness as a writer and determining what his or her goals are in terms of improving their writing, I proceed to develop a curriculum or plan that I believe will enable the student to achieve the goals we have mutually agreed upon.
