A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style varies upon subject and student.
I graduated from Jefferson High School in the spring of 2012. I now attend Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne. I have two younger siblings and 4 younger step-siblings that I have helped with their homework, or helped them better understand material assigned to them. Their ages range from 8-17. I know how to explain certain subjects in multiple ways to ensure that eventually the student will understand the material. I am very patient, and I understand that some people learn at slower rates than others. I am majoring in nursing, though I considered teaching English before making this decision. I love teaching, and am looking to make some extra money for things I need while in college.

I love to write. As a pastor, professor, and playwright, I have actively been writing for the past ten years. I have written hundreds of sermons, lesson plans, papers and newsletters. I have also written five plays for young adults, one of which was published. I earned a master's degree in Divinity, a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts with a minor in Psychology, and further graduate credit in Communication from Purdue. Typically, after assessing the student’s writing and discussing what he or she perceives to be their strength and weakness as a writer and determining what his or her goals are in terms of improving their writing, I proceed to develop a curriculum or plan that I believe will enable the student to achieve the goals we have mutually agreed upon.
