A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught violin lessons to students of all ages and levels for 20 + years. Letters of reference are available upon request. I am also a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and have been critically acclaimed as a Violin Solo Recitalist in New York State. As a professional violinist I have performed at Broadway shows, for free lance professional orchestras and more in the NY area and currently I manage and perform with an ensemble called "The Capricccio Ensemble" for small concerts, weddings, and private functions. Capriccio Ensemble has performed concerts at St. Josephs Seminary (for the NYC Roman Catholic Church/Archdiocese), and at Downtown at Grace Church series in White Plains, the New Rochelle Public Library and at many other locations.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy teaching students how to play the bass. It's a thrill when they have that "Aha" moment and what I'm trying to show them simply clicks. Every student I've ever had has had different reasons for coming to me and therefore I approach each individual differently and I try to tailor each lesson to their needs. One thing I do keep in common with all my students is encouraging them to practice and to think for themselves. Tutoring and private one-on-one lessons are the extent of my experience with teaching and hopefully I can continue to do so for as long as I'm able.

Although initially motivated to study meteorology, I took on the additional math major soon after because of my longtime love of numbers. Music, and working with students who enjoy music is my passion. My experiences have shown that some students can be shown or told, while others understand through strictly listening, or even by doing or saying nothing! Francois Rabbath demonstrated how correcting intonation could be as simple as moving a persons' finger. By doing so the musician remembers their finger was in the wrong spot and where it should be placed through muscle memory!
