A Little Bit About Me...

I teach very young beginners (under 5) via the Suzuki Violin Method. Other students are taught utilizing traditional teaching approaches, method books ranging from A Tune a Day to study books by Hrimaly, Sevcik, Shraidieck and more. They learn to incorporate their technical skills which are honed by learning scales, positions, and studies in their repertoire such as short pieces of music and student and professional concertos for the Violin.
I have taught violin lessons to students of all ages and levels for 20 + years. Letters of reference are available upon request. I am also a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and have been critically acclaimed as a Violin Solo Recitalist in New York State. Since the age of 13 I have been playing bass. Since 1993 I've been a self employed bassist, audio engineer, producer and programmer. In addition to performing, I have extensive experience with computer audio/music recording and production. In that time, I have toured the world playing in several different musical styles. Most notably, playing with Jose Feliciano's. I've taught many students how to play bass privately and continue to do so today. I've taught at music stores as well as my home and students homes. A Little Bit About Me...

I was very motivated to accomplish a high level of excellence in education, and have earned a BS degree in both Meteorology and Mathematics. Although initially motivated to study meteorology, I took on the additional math major soon after because of my longtime love of numbers. Both majors complemented each other and enhanced my problem solving abilities. Further, both majors have afforded me the opportunity to apply Microsoft Excel to my laboratory projects, and senior research studies. Both research papers and laboratory write-ups helped me improve my grammar and writing skills. While attending college, I tutored other undergraduates in both Math and Statistics for two years.

A Little Bit About Me...

Music, and working with students who enjoy music is my passion. My experiences have shown that some students can be shown or told, while others understand through strictly listening, or even by doing or saying nothing! Francois Rabbath demonstrated how correcting intonation could be as simple as moving a persons' finger. By doing so the musician remembers their finger was in the wrong spot and where it should be placed through muscle memory!
