Piano is one of my top subjects! I taught beginners as young as 5 in the past, and I myself have been playing the piano for 14 years - since I was eight :) So I know very well what would help minds and fingers of any age learn a new instrument!

Hello everyone! I am available for tutoring as well as teaching music lessons. I have experience tutoring students who may need more time to process information than is provided in a classroom setting in all subjects, and I'm great when it comes to communicating with kids who are weary from having lessons drilled into them at school. Not to brag, but I was in the top 8% of my high school class and am now a double degree college graduate in Neurobiology and South Asian Languages/Culture. As a graduate of RIT I have worked as a lab technician in both corporate and academic settings. After obtaining my Masters Degree in Secondary Education from LeMoyne College, I taught for Syracuse City schools district for 18 months and Hillside Children's Center for 6 months. I have also taught summer school chemistry for OCM Boces. I have taught Living Environment(Biology), Earth Science, Environmental Science, General Science and Chemistry.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher of urban students and students who have experienced sever trauma (Hillside), I have gained a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by children today such as home environment and poverty. My teaching style is very structured and includes various modes of instruction. I try to utilize cooperative learning strategies when ever possible. Students can learn alot from each other both intellectually as well as socially. I graduated from syracuse university in violin performance. I been playing with symphony orchestras in the upstate area, such as Syracuse Symphony, Binghamton Philharmonic, Utica Symphony, Tri-cities Opera. As well I been performing in NY city ,with musicians from many nationalities, that is giving me the opportunity to practice my language skill's in spanish, english and french.
