My comments on tutoring Writing : Writing and composition are generally the same. These can include all of the different forms of expository writing and creative writing. I have taught all of the various forms of writing, in particular the essay.

I believe that all students can learn to read and write with an approach individualized for each learner regardless of the age.
For the past three years, I have been teaching Writing at Austin Community College. Prior to that I taught teachers as an online facilitator for PBS. I consider my teaching style to be interactive. I like for the student to be constantly involved in the lesson and not just listening. I have found that if the student participates more, the student will learn more quickly. I also believe students enjoy learning more if they have some input into the methods used to teach. I like to give them a few choices for activities to do. The student is more receptive to new material if they feel that they had a choice in how the material was introduced to them.
