A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Biology/Science Education and a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education. I have 9 years of experience in the High School classroom and 1 year of experience in a University setting. I have received Accommodations from my State Senator and State Representative for my work as an educator. I was chosen as 1 of 20 teachers in the state of Oklahoma to participate in the Teachers in Space Program. I have served on the Board of Directors for Odyssey of the Mind, and led the Future Teachers of America Program as State Director.
My Physics class had the chance to work with machinery used in vocational careers. I also taught Teacher Cadets, a class for students interested in the field of Education. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching when there is a bit of a challenge getting the student to understand the concept. As I have mentioned, I can use different styles to help the student get the concept. I have a great deal of patience and believe that everyone can learn. I enjoy the way someone looks after they have understood and mastered an idea.
I tutored all subjects - especially in Math all through High School. I also tutored in college. I have strong skills in Math - all levels - but I especially enjoy algebra. I have two children and I basically taught my oldest son math, since he was a different kind of learner than the way they teach at school. He is a very kinesthetic type learner and needs to see, feel and touch to understand the concepts - so I used a lot of tools to help him. I can tutor math and science exceptionally well and other subjects for the younger levels.
