My comments on tutoring Violin : I played violin for seven years in school and private lessons.

I am a second year student at the Universtiy of Georgia. I taught private violin lessons to middle schoolers from the fall of 2010 through the summer of 2011, and I myself have received seven years of private instruction. I have experienced numerous auditions, concerts, and other performances, as well as traveled with my high school chamber orchestra to Washington, D.C. and Savannah, Georgia. During the summer of 2012, I tutored Korean adults in the mechanics of English, including proper pronunciation, grammar, and conversational phrases. As for the other subject areas, I have taken many classes throughout grade school and now college that have provided me with a solid foundation in them.
I try to use various activities and techniques when teaching to keep students interested. This also helps them (and me) to determine the way(s) that they learn best. I also like to ask the student ... read more

Violin is one of my top subjects!

I use the Russian Method to instill my students with good technique and tone, I use certain pieces for my students that encourage their artistic expression, and I get to know the learning styles of my students so they can all progress with ease. Also, if a student wants to pursue a certain style of music, then I'm open to helping them become proficient in that style.
I am proficient as a teacher and performer on the violin, viola, and cello. I was placed first stand in the Kendall Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Gwinnett County Youth Symphony Orchestra, and in the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra. I also played viola in the 2009 and 2010 All-State Orchestras. Currently I play violin in the Georgia State University Orchestra, I perform composer's new works in the Atlanta area, and I also enjoy playing in contemporary worship bands. I am a sectional coach for Couch Middle School and I ha ... read more

Violin is one of my top subjects! I played the violin throughout my youth from the age of 8 until I was 20. I recently picked it back up seriously again, and currently am playing with the Athens Symphony. I studied with master teachers in my youth and have played with many ensembles and symphonies as well been a featured soloeist in my younger performing days.

Suzuki and beyond
12 years serious playing and 12 years casual playing. Although I took quite a long break from playing seriously I continued to pick up the instrument and practice on my own for pleasure. Recently, I decided to pick it up more seriously and auditioned to play with the Athens Symphony. I currently sit in the 1st violin section.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all children. I believe that my teaching should be differientiated to fit the learning style of each student I work with. This is because all children learn differently and i have to use which strategy that works best with each particular student. All children can learn and succeed if they were given the opportunity.
As a special education major and history minor, I have learned so much about helping children succeed. I am currently working toward my bachelors degree at Brenau University. This has enabled me to do various field experiences and an internship that deals with children of various ages. I have worked with all subjects from grades K-12. I have a social studies concentration with my major.

I am a conscientious, creative, and dedicated teacher who takes learners' goals seriously. My teaching approach unites practice in real-life language tasks (i.e., interviewing for a job) with attention to accurate language forms (i.e., grammar and vocabulary). Learners who are motivated to communicate, I believe, will develop facility in language; thus, part of my role is to provide learners with richly engaging, varied, and realistic communicative tasks. My students have experienced success in reaching narrowly focused objectives, such as achievement on standardized tests like the TOEFL, as well as in reaching broader goals, such as increased facility in reading.
Through seven years’ English-teaching experience in the United States and abroad, I have worked with students of diverse backgrounds. I have taught English composition to Chinese college students, tutored expatriate Europ ... read more

I worked at Mathnasium for two years. Mathnasium is a math tutoring center for children ranging from kindergarten to graduating high schoolers. I taught everything from basic arithmetic to calculus. I tutored calculus at the college level. I independently advertised my tutoring services. I mostly tutored Calculus I (not including linear algebra).
I work as a one-on-one tutor. It is my teaching philosophy that the best tutor leads the child to discover the answer himself/herself. Thus, I employ various techniques to help the child think about the problem in a different way. For example, when teaching a child to do arithmetic, for example, adding 8, I would tell the child to add 10 and then subtract 2. This leads to quick math computation and a better understanding of math foundations.

I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in English, with a Concentration in Creative Writing. As a student of Kentucky State University, I have explored my passion through words (i.e. Poetry). The Education that I've received from my University, allowed me to not only be successful in my field, but I have written over 100 Poems; which I'm in the process of getting them copyright, as well as published. More About This Tutor...

I was introduced to teaching as a guitar teacher and loved the field of education ever since. My first school experience was teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies in Queens, N.Y.in 1979. Finally, I found my niche in high school teaching various subjects such as Physical Science, Biology, Social Studies and tutoring after school programs for the passing of the high school graduation tests. In 1993 I moved to Georgia and became fully certified in the fields of Physical Science, Health and P.E.and ESOL. I successfully tutored high school students to pass the graduation tests with a >95% rate.
My years of experience have taught me that no two students are alike, especially in the 'tutoring' arena. I find the students strengths and create a positive learning environment that students actually enjoy! My students tell me they can't believe how fast the time goes; and look forward to t ... read more
