Teaching has become something that I discovered a great passion for while I was educating parents in a Parenting Class for Foster Parents. Each student is different and therefore our goal as educators is to adapt and shift according to the needs of the student. I believe that all are capable of learning with the right instruction. Students must dictate the type of learning they feel most comfortable with and as the tutor, I must adjust. Children are visual, investigative, imaginary, detail oriented, readers, hands-on, and as the tutor, you must be prepared for anything. Growing up, I never thought that I would want to be a teacher. After taking a job as a Childcare Counselor with the YMCA, I realized the I was meant to teach and work with children. I have been working with the YMCA for close to three years. I graduated from Manatee Community College with my Associate’s degree in May of 2009. I am currently attending the University of South Florida in Sarasota to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I have also been a tutor for various English Language Learners over the past two years.
