I am a recent Bachelor of Science in Child Studies graduate of FGCU and hold a current FCCPC. I am considered a non-traditional graduate (which in my case means older), and I bring with me a range of personal and professional experiences that have developed and enhanced my capacity for learning, teaching, and adaptability. My primary interest in learning is focused on the social-emotional and cognitive influences that create the optimal conditions for brain function during the learning process. Teaching has become something that I discovered a great passion for while I was educating parents in a Parenting Class for Foster Parents. Each student is different and therefore our goal as educators is to adapt and shift according to the needs of the student. I believe that all are capable of learning with the right instruction. Students must dictate the type of learning they feel most comfortable with and as the tutor, I must adjust. Children are visual, investigative, imaginary, detail oriented, readers, hands-on, and as the tutor, you must be prepared for anything.
