Math Tutor looking to offer help to those who need it

Recently, I have taken a college algebra class and a business calculus class, both of which I maintained an A in. I have a little tutoring experience from junior high. One of my instructors requested that I help some of the other students in my math class. I also have been tutoring my family in some of their college math classes. I was recently suggested by my college algebra professor for a tutoring position at the college, but had to turn it down because I was relocating. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to prove how good of a tutor I can be.
I tutor mostly in math, but am also available for a few other subjects as well. I like to tutor one on one with the student. It seems to make them more comfortable when asking questions. Also, it gives me a chance to deal specifically with the problems they are experiencing in the subject.

For the 2011-2012 school year, I was a math tutor for Charles E. Nash Elementary school in Ft. worth/TX. In the evening and on weekend, I also tutor students in grade level ranging from 4th graders to college students. The most effective methods for teaching math to any students level is to make it relevant, connect math content to every days' life. We use math everyday and yet most of our youngster don't even realize that, especially when it comes to higher math level like calculus or even algebra. Math can lead to greater success.

I use both tactile and working through examples to explain how to solve a problem. I like to break down the problems into smaller pieces and work each piece at a time. I also backtrack to previous related concepts to ensure understanding.
