As an undergraduate at UConn, I pursued a number of fields from computer science to communications and philosophy, giving me a wide range of experience in a multitude of subject areas. When lecturing in an auditorium to two hundred freshmen, I had to keep to my lecture notes and prepared demonstrations, depending on the students’ initiative to ask the TA’s in the recitation sections about any difficulties. In a smaller class I could engage the students more, still keeping on topic but asking questions of the students and encouraging their questions.
