A Little Bit About Me...

At Adult Basic and Literature Education, I serve as a math and grammar tutor in the GED and ESOL programs. Also, I assist the students on how to obtain basic computer techniques so that they can operate the computer. I am able to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and read French. As for my technical, web designing, and software knowledge, I have a background in computer troubleshooting, Adobe Photoshop, HMTL, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etcetera. For five years, I was a substitute teacher for grades K-5 in English as a Second Language, Special Education and Art classes. I used my communication skills to converse with and to translate Spanish/English language. Set Realistic Goals and Rewards Create realistic, individual goals for all of your students. It's nice to have a classroom goal so students feel like they are working together, encouraging one another. However, it's more important to give each student an attainable goal that's personalized for their educational needs, such as completing homework assignments on time or checking over an assignment before they turn it in. Providing students with a personalized, attainable goals makes them feel like they can succeed and doesn't overwhelm them. Discuss with students the rewards for achieving their goals.
