Taking the fear out of testing, one session at a time

Currently I am tutoring Biology (among other sciences) as well as English at Pueblo Community College. I have been there for close to a half of a year at this point. I also have a 15 year old son who is in the IB program at Palmer. He does very well in school, I like to attribute that partially to my skills. I have a bachelors degree with duel majors in both psychology and sociology. I was a TA for a semester my senior year of undergrad and assisted a lot of my peers through college with psychology and sociology courses especially related to theory and more concentrations topics. I believe the best way to learn is to ask questions. The best thought process begins with asking the right questions. As a student, I find that knowing the right question was often as important as right answer. I earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 1984. My subjects of passion were math and science and I enjoy working with children who struggle in those areas. I have home schooled my son through the end of 12th grade and he was ready for college freshman classes at age 15. A Little Bit About Me...

In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. As a student athlete I understand the demands of both schoolwork and extracurricular activities. As a substitute teacher, I try to engage the interest of all the students by greeting them by name initially as I welcome them to their classroom.
