I am a fun, enthusiastic, caring, supportive, yet, particular teacher. My students learn whether they want to or not... I include a lot of games and activities which are fun for everyone, including myself! I have to have fun, because if I'm not, I know my students aren't having any fun. I care very much for people, therefore, wanting what is best for my students and for them to see the importance of learning another language. I have a degree in English from Syracuse University in New York. I have 15 years of tutoring and teaching experience in English and Spanish. My previous work positions include: teaching Spanish at the University of Colorado (CU) in Boulder, tutoring English and Spanish at CU-Boulder, and tutoring English and Spanish at Front Range Community College in Longmont, Colorado. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a retired Boulder valley teacher and I have taught from the preschool to college level for over 20 years. Most recently, I worked as an ESL and reading teacher. My training was modeled after reading recovery and involved one year of supervised teaching one-on-one with children who were struggling readers. The goal of this training is to help children work with their strengths as readers, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. Children learn the strategies that they need in order to be successful, independent readers.
