As a life-long student, I aspire to a life of teaching. While an undergraduate at St. Olaf College, I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills as a writing center tutor and ESL mentor. After graduating magna cum laude in 2005, I became a volunteer educator in Chicago and taught elementary and middle school math, reading, art and social studies. After earning a bachelor degree in Mathematics/Statistics I entered graduate school with the intention of going into the Computer Science field. Teaching undergraduates, as a teaching assistant, I uncovered my desire to help and teach. In an effort to find a better path I'm now enrolled as a first year professional student in a Pharmacy program. I have an extensive educational background in math and sciences to draw upon. My goal in studying linguistics is to become a professional ESL teacher. I am very much interested in language development at all levels, but especially in nonnative language development. I am a native speaker of English, but I am also fluent in Spanish as well. I love to teach and learn language.
