After graduating from the U S Naval Academy, I received my Navy "wings" as a pilot. Following 12 years of service, I became an airline pilot. I am currently a tutor and contract educator in the Richmond area. I have been an instructor at Rice University, and I have been a substitute teacher for the Toms River (NJ) school system. I have undergraduate degrees in history and journalism as well as graduate degrees in history. I have also worked in the public history field as a museum interpreter and educator. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work. I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I strive to be a good role model to them all, even when I may be frustrated but I find constructive ways of venting such as listening to music during class quiet times and taking walks with my students during activity breaks and while they are in PE.
