I have always endeavored to excel academically and so sought after and received a top-level education at Duke University. Having a love of language and having a desire to be able to teach at all levels, I obtained an MA in English from the UNC-G. I have had 43 years of teaching and tutoring at all levels, elementary through college. I have taught high school English, college English, SAT Prep, and GRE Prep---both the verbal and the math (I scored almost 800 on the math section). I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. A Little Bit About Me...

I never give up on a child or an adult. I recently tutored a law enforcement official to help him understand and pass algebra. He didn't think anyone could help him. The schools told me my son would never learn to read or write. He is my only child out of four who reads lengthy books for pleasure. Everyone has a different style of learning. My teaching methods I alter to suit those needs. I spent three years trying to help my dyslexic son learn to read one sentence. I have patience and I love helping people. I am also a volunteer crisis counselor for the local police department.

A Little Bit About Me...
