Being French Professeur des Ecoles and teached from 1970 to 2005 , I teached to all sorts of students, I have the Master's degree of Education, I'm actually tutoring in Latin and geography for 10th grade American students. Teaching is what I did all my life. I am French and speak 4 foreign languages fluently.
The child is in the Center of learning, he must makes learning HIS or HER problem , the teacher is a link between the child and the knowledge, but also brings all his background, his skills, his affectivity, noone can learn without being a little bit attached to the teacher.

I believe patients is the key to all with learning. Especially to children who have a hard time at school or may come from a family that education is not emphasized. Children no matter what age can feel fustration and anxiety from others remaining calm, positive and assuring is the best way to get a child relaxed enough to be able stopo worrying about all other things going on in the lifes and focus on the subject at hand. Letting them know you 'know' they can do it and will stick it out with them until they do. I believe that having one person who believes in them can change a childs life and how they feel about themselves and there educational future.
