I have received numerous awards for excellency in all standardized testing. Post- secondary education to include 1 year at Kansas State University and 3 years at Kansas City Kansas Community College. I recieved an Associates in Applied Science for Criminal justice at KCKCC. While studying at Kansas state, I was enrolled in the Chemistry major, completing Chemistry and Calculus 1 and 2. I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns. I graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas with a degree in Communications (emphasis in Journalism) along with minors in Religion and Youth Ministry. While in college, I was a member of the yearbook staff as well as serving as an editor in various capacities for the newspaper. I also was selected by my newspaper advisor to serve as a writing mentor for a United Methodist publication.
