A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a pre-pharmacy student at Southern Utah University. I will be moving to Las Vegas in late april and am very interested in this position. I have taken exensive chemistry courses including General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chimistry I and II, Medicinal Chemistry, and Biochemistry. I have also taken Math classes up to and including Calculus I, and a large amount of Biology courses. I have been a Teacher's Assistant for Organic Chemistry this past semester. I currently am a lab technician intern in a chemical lab where I have learned practical application to Chemistry. Every child is different, and as a tutor, you have to be able to adapt using positive reinforcement, patience, and lots of concentration. At the same time, developing and understanding a relationship filled with common sense and a kind warming environment that makes our students comfortable with learning something that they may be having complications. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an ability to communicate the complex theories in everyday language that makes me a very effective tutor. It is great when someone starts to understand the theory of their subject and then continue to more complicated things. The key to tutoring is to understand the frustration and embarrassment someone feels when they do not understand something and overcome this with a friendly, straight-forward approach.
I started tutoring thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and statics in college. My BS in mechanical engineering has required me to get a firm understanding of calculus and physics - two traditionally very difficult subjects.
