I have always enjoyed teaching people in a one-on-one or small group environment. It allows me to tailor my teaching style to fit the individual student or group I’m working with. I enjoy using creative methods to teach a topic, including creating multiple ways to explain a term or concept and providing analogies to concepts that are familiar to the student. All people comprehend concepts in different ways and at varying speeds. I attended Houghton College for 2 1/2 years. Then I went to NCCC and earned an AS, then transferred to Charter Oak State College. They took all the credits I had earned as a student at both schools, allowed me to define my degree, told me which additional credits I needed and granted my degree. I have homeschooled my children for 15 years. My oldest is 19 and going to RIT in the fall. He has an AS which he got the week he turned 18. I also have two teens whom I currently school. I have taught them math courses including Algebra and Geometry, American History, writing, reading, etc. I also taught a class in Spanish 1 for other homeschooled students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a teacher certified by NYS in Music Education grades K-12, and in Special Education. I did my undergraduate work at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam & my graduate work at Syracuse University. I spent one year teaching 8th grade chorus and music in the Churchville Chili Jr. High School, in Churchville NY. I currently work as a 7th & 8th grade music teacher in the West Genesee Central School District in Camillus, NY. I teach general music & chorus, as well as directing the annual school musical and teaching swing dancing!
