As a recent college graduate and now a graduate student, I have always had a passion of working with children. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Education and spent numerous hours and days with children both in the classroom and outside the classroom teaching about the environment, science, and reading. My education focuses on geology, the environmental sciences and includes the arts. One of my main interests is encouraging students to explore the wonderful possibilities available in the many existing scientific fields. Prior to changing my undergraduate major to Geography, I was an elementary education major. I have always enjoyed working with students; however, at the time I wanted to try something different and is how I ended up working as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service (NPS). My experiences with NPS have allowed me to teach in an informal setting, by educating the public about their national parks. I also have the opportunity to present curriculum based education programs in grades K-5 about different aspects in NPS.
