Spanish is one of my top subjects! Lived in Costa Rica for one year and Ecuador for three years.

I have lived four years combined in South and Central America. I have taught in both English and Spanish classrooms, and have experience with ages 3-18. Education does not stop with books. I incorporate "real life" experiences with the material being presented. I try to make the subject fun and meaningful to the student. My classes are run with volunteer participation. (They "jump and do" at the board.) I enjoy helping others and watching the lightbulbs come on with whatever level of student I am working with. I take homework, quizzes, and tests personally. They evaluate the student as well as me. Am I presenting the material in a manner that is understood? I try to convince students that fractions are our friends.

As the daughter of an educator, I not only grew up understanding that every child could learn, but that every child deserved a sincere smile. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught learning disabled/emotionally handicapped middle school students for 7 years. I have about 3 years experience tutoring students of all ages. I have been homeschooling my own children for the past 15 years. I have experince with many subjects. I am also fluent in Spanish and currently work as a medical interpreter.
I enjoy working with students of all ages, but I especially like middle school ages. All students learn in different ways, and I have used many techniques with public school students as well as with my own children. I believe everyone needs to have the skills to research and test out their ideas.
