Don't tell me 2+2=4. Tell me WHY 2+2=4.

My teaching style differs with each child. One child does well learning by applying the material to real live situations Another does better with breaking it down and just memorizing facts I am very flexible and make an effort to find the best method to save both myself and the child time that would otherwise be wasted with an ineffective approach to learning.
Although I wish I could count the endless amount of time I spent playing teacher as a child, I know parents are looking for more expierence than an eight year old and her dolls. I have tutored children, ages ranging from eight to fourteen, off and on for three years. I have been tutoring stduents since 2007. I have tutored in all different grade level, I have worked with elementary students, middle school, high school, and college. I worked in the math tutoring center at my college for a couple of years, getting a lot of experience there. I have yet to professionally tutor anyone, but I have a lot of experience aiding others with homework and questions. I have always received high grades in all of my courses, with over a 4.0 G.P.A. in high school, so I am very knowledgeable and would be able to assist in many subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

When I was a high school student, I tutored pre-algebra, geometry and algebra, Shakespeare, World Literature, and Earth Science. I managed my own clients and improved test scores with every client. During the summer of 2005, I tutored mentally disabled children in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I attended the University of Idaho and have received a B.S. in Mathematics. While there, I worked at the Polya Math Lab, tutoring college algebra. I continued to tutor on my own during college, and have tutored in all forms of vector calculus, from methods of integration to 3d modeling. I have also tutored Abstract Algebra (group and ring theory), Combinatorics, and Number Theory. I am particularly good at walking people through proofs.
