Hi, my name is Brittany G. I am a graduate of Southeastern University where I earned a B.S. in General Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Western Governor's University where I earned a Master's in teaching Science. I have been teaching for Sarasota County since 2007. I've taught a variety of different subjects for all grade levels from basic middle school math and science to Honor's Anatomy and Physiology, Algebra, Informal Geometry, Physical Science, and have recently been tutoring for college level algebra and trigonometry, probability and statistics, chemistry and biology. After graduating with a BA in Sociology in 1995 and working in social services for some time, I decided to enter the field of education. I began teaching high school in 2002 and earned my Alternative Teacher Certification in 2004. I am certified in the state of Florida in the areas of Sociology 6-12, Family and Consumer Science 6-12 and PE K-12. I very much enjoyed my experience as a teaching assistant. Also, my clinical experience as a student physical therapist has allowed me to see that all people have different teaching styles, and the teacher has to recognize that and adapt accordingly. I make a consistent effort to do this with my patients, to use whatever it takes so they can understand such as demonstration, verbal, or allowing them to just do it.
Currently, I am in my final year of obtaining my doctorate degree in physical therapy. As an undergraduate student, I served as a teaching assistant to the freshmen biology labs which involved me grading lab reports, setting up exams, and primarily teaching the students what they did not understand from lecture. It was extremely rewarding, and I loved doing it. I am very strong in the sciences and math because those were the emphasize of my undergraduate degree.

I retired last year after teaching Learning Disabilities for 35 years at the high school level. I have taught most subject areas but specialized in math.
