A Little Bit About Me...

I tutor one-on-one. I enjoy teaching high school students, as well as college students. I will spend the maximum time and effort to help my student achieve his/her goals in the subject area of choice.
I have tutored English as a Second/Other Language on a volunteer basis, as well as a paying one. I speak French fluently, however American English is my native tongue. I also have experience tutoring Latin I and II; and Spanish (any high school level, up to intermediate college/university level).

More About This Tutor...

I try to make each lesson unique for my various learners. I have been known to teach in historical clothing, using props from the time period and a smattering of words in other languages. I also incorporate hands on learning such as crafts and some food making. I believe if a method is not working for my students, I change my approach. I also teach in language they are able to understand since their vocabulary is much different than what we spoke in 1970 as well as referneces current to them. I have found Tupoc Shakur's poetry is more well received than Shakespeare with todays youth.
I am a former Social Worker from the Foster Care system. I realized thern I wanted to work with children, but more as an educator.
