Success is Feasible

In 2011 to 2012 I worked as a lead tutor for Academic Achievers in Muncie. My core focus was to improve writing skills. I would help students organize their thoughts into a structured document, and on occasion I would help build their vocabulary with five words of the week. Currently, I work at the Muncie Children's Museum where I create programs for children to exercise their motor and critical thinking skills in the visual arts and music.
I teach according to the student's learning style. I acknowledge that all students learn differently, and I excel at catering to visual, aural, and kinesthetic needs of students.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my scholastic career I have always been a focused and driven student. While at Elder, I was a Spanish and science tutor, graduated in the top four percent of my class, and received the distinction of "National Hispanic Scholar." Also, during the summers, I volunteered at Children's Hospital, monitoring play-rooms and working with children of all ages. Here at Ball State I am pursuing degrees in Pre-Medicine and Spanish and am well-versed in Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy, and all aspects of writing, both in English and Spanish. My cumulative GPA at this time is 3.93. Last semester I made my first foray into the world of teaching, and spent the semester working on English pronunciation and grammar with a Cuban woman. I have taught Spanish and English in the high school setting since 1996. I have also taught ESL/ ESOL at homes, in schools, and for private organizations during that time and have had students from ages 6 - 66 from many different countries and at a variety of knowledge levels. I have taught Spanish at the middle school level as well.
I LOVE teaching. I enjoy working with students and helping them see something new or understand a concept they are studying in class. Spanish and teaching are my passions. I think teaching - AND learning - should be fun, clear, concise and comprehensible.
