A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students of all ages, from elementary school to adults. I have taught at the elementary level, and substitute taught kindergarten through high school, but I most enjoy tutoring one-on-one. For the last two years, I have tutored adults studying to earn their GED, primarily in math, and over the past six years, I have taught the Microsoft Office Suite of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. I have tutored general math, algebra I, geometry, and I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in biology.
When I teach, I am patient, positive, and encouraging. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience includes high school Home Economics and Special Education, elementary third grade, middle school Language Arts, adult reading at Job Corps, preschool, Emotional Handicapped at the elementary level, and substitute teaching. I worked as an evaluator for the state educational competency exams in elementary and high school for three different states and as such graded the language arts/writing/reading sections. I have also tutored on line this past year in reading, language arts and math. I have over 40 hours of graduate work in education and am certified to teach Elementary K-8 and Science and Language Arts at the middle school/junior high level.

I truly enjoy working with children! It gives me great worth and value in enriching the lives of the children I come in contact with. Building the self esteem in children, and developing rapport with my students has proven to give me an upper hand in achieving growth in the academic areas I tutor.
