After attending the University at Albany for four years I have accumulated a wealth of experience in Chemistry and Physics which has culminated in multiple accolades and two degrees. Previously, while a member of the national honor society in high school I tutored many elementary and high school students in subjects such as math, science, and history.
In my experience, most students under perform in science and math due to the an inability to relate theses subjects to practical real life examples. Connecting chemistry and physics principles with analogous real life examples is the key for students to become both interested and proficient in these subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

Inorganic Chemistry was my favorite class of my academic career. I had fantastic teachers and decided when I had the opportunity to give back to academia, I would teach inorganic chemistry. After I finished my Ph.D I became an adjunct professor at a local community college. I have been teaching chemistry for five years.
The most important aspect of my teaching style is my ability to relax my students. I believe if you are in a relaxed environment, learning becomes easy. I would best describe my method of teaching as a give and take experience. Through diologue, I am able to lead the student through the thought process that will derive the correct answer. Giving bits of information can provoke a new approach to the task at hand. I also feel it is important to individualize each person being tutored, as everyone learns differently. Students learn skills by using them in a realistic, subject-specific context, and in a combined way. So they might use other skills taught before such as note taking, highlighting, all in context. The purpose of the skills are stressed, students are taught not just what to do and how, but also why.
