A Little Bit About Me...

In my experience, most students under perform in science and math due to the an inability to relate theses subjects to practical real life examples. Connecting chemistry and physics principles with analogous real life examples is the key for students to become both interested and proficient in these subjects. When a student gains an appreciation for a subject, it will certainly be reflected in by their grades.
After attending the University at Albany for four years I have accumulated a wealth of experience in Chemistry and Physics which has culminated in multiple accolades and two degrees. Previously, while a member of the national honor society in high school I tutored many elementary and high school students in subjects such as math, science, and history.

My journey through the undergraduate sciences has given me the skills needed to be an effective tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I hated science and math when I was in junior high and high school. When I asked my teachers questions, they didn't give me the answers I was looking for. Luckily, I got into a great university and found out, after taking a few core classes, that I actually love science. Once I really understood some of the key concepts, I found it to be fun and interesting. Students learn skills by using them in a realistic, subject-specific context, and in a combined way. So they might use other skills taught before such as note taking, highlighting, all in context. The purpose of the skills are stressed, students are taught not just what to do and how, but also why.
