I have over thirty years experience in healthcare, twenty plus as registered nurse, last three as college nursing instructor. I have experience in NCLEX tutoring. I have instructed fundamental nursing 1 & 2, pharmacology for nurse, Mental health nursing, Nutritional therapy for nurses, Management & Leadership for nurses, Adult health 1, 2, & 3, and Human Growth & Development. Everything but maternity and pediatrics.
In the classroom I used a multimedia approach. As a tutor, the student directs the area of study. I apply experience, knowledge, and humor to transmit message and understanding.

I have a versatile background that began with two business degrees and progressed to a professional career in purchasing and sales. I discovered along the way that my true passion was teaching and I can be more effective in a tutoring one-on-one situation than a classroom setting. I am very motivated to help children or adults to learn - I especially like to find creative ways to help people understand subjects. I like to start with making an assessment of what my student already knows, this gives me an idea of what needs to be worked on and also gives the student confidence to continue the learning process. I would also look for possible barriers to learning which I will problem solve to help the student to be receptive to learning.
