I like to stay relaxed and have fun, telling a few jokes along the way. It's hard to learn things if you're not interested, and even more so if you're struggling with it! I push students a bit once I'm sure they understand something, and I always try to get them to be at their very best.
I have been doing Physics for 7 years, and can't think of anything I would rather be doing! Science is so cool to me, especially seeing all the strange ways the world does things when you know how it works. I have worked on numerous teaching in science colloquium, made laser light shows for kids to talk about lasers, and developed specialized science intro courses for college freshmen at wvu.

I like to begin tutoring a new student by having them review for me the material they have already learned. This allows me to develop a sense of their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their learning style. Often, I have students practice problems to reinforce concepts they already know and help build confidence in their problem solving abilities.
