I am from South Korea and have been studying in America for 4 years. During 4 years, I was struggling to learn English and studying hard to follow my classes. As a result, I learned the efficient way of studying English(useful for people who are from other countries) and maintained A- grade during my high school. My comments on tutoring Biology : As a tutor in the college-prep after-school program Upward Bound,I helped students understand Biology concepts for 7 years, and know where the basic pitfalls are.

I start by giving a diagnostic test to assess each student's proficiency in the basics of Arithmetic and Algebra: fractions, decimals, percentages and the interconversion between them,and the rules of working with signed numbers. This approach stems from the notion that without these basics, Math is an uphill climb for most students. I place more emphasis on full work than answers.
I taught college-level Plant Science for 14 years. I spent 7 years as a tutor of Math and Science at the college-prep after-school program Upward bound, helping students with homework and preparing them for the ACT and the SAT. I am currently employed as a Math tutor at a local technical college where I help students with Basic Math, Intro Algebra,Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trig and Elementary Statistics.

Flexible for summer tutoring!

I am a native Chinese speaker and I have been learning the language since I was in elementary school (total of 16 years). I have taught in after-school programs back when I was in Malaysia for 2 years. I am also an undergraduate student that is completing my Pre-Med and Medical Laboratory Science degree.
